A 61-year-old passenger who was critically hurt in a bus crash in Perth's northern suburbs has died from his injuries.
The man was one of seven passengers who were injured when the driver of a Transperth bus lost control on Joondalup Drive in Wanneroo around 11am on Thursday and crashed into a tree.
He was taken to Joondalup Health Campus for treatment and later transferred to Royal Perth Hospital (RPH), but died overnight.
A 59-year-old woman who was critically injured in the crash remains in RPH in a serious condition.
The bus driver, a 56-year-old man, was also taken to RPH for medical treatment, while five other passengers received minor injuries.
One of them, a 26-year-old man believed to have been seated at the back of the bus, has been discharged from hospital.
It is not known what caused the driver to lose control of the bus.
Police said inquiries into the crash were ongoing, asking anyone with information or footage relating to the accident to contact Crime Stoppers.
The crash forced the closure of Joondalup Drive between Burns Beach Road and Wanneroo Road for much of the day.
