Submit a comment or question Live updates Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 5:07pm 43' Eels avoid disastrous start Tupouniua looks to plunge over but Kautoga somehow manages to get his arm underneath the ball, what an effort from the Eels backrower! But the Dogs retain possession, last tackle Burton goes across field but Russell rises high to take it and Parramatta hold on again. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 5:05pm Second half underway And the Bulldogs go on the attack straight away, the Eels don't catch the kick off and allow it over the sideline! Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:49pm Halftime: Bulldogs 0 Eels 0 Addo-Carr kicks for himself as the siren sounds, Crichton seemed to take him out a bit but Smith puts the whistle away. For the first time since 2021, we have a scoreless first half. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:48pm 39' One last chance for Eels Houston, we have a try! Kiraz pushes an offload to Galvin inside the Dogs 20, he loses the ball under pressure from Papalii, Thompson loses it as da Silva goes after him and Papalii picks it up to score! But the Bunker bails them out, they say Galvin regained possession and thus the play was dead. A lucky escape, and a dud call in my book, but Eels ball. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:44pm 37' Stalemate continues Papalii forces an error out of Tupouniua and the Eels hang on again! They're showing a lot of grit. They deny the Bulldogs again a set late after a Galvin break. Could we see a scoreless first half? Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:40pm 34' Tracey can't thread the needle A contentious error on Kelly gives Canterbury a fresh attacking set. Is this the breakthrough? Not yet - although Galvin does trap them in-goal with a nice kick on the last. On tackle three of the ensuing set Tracey goes for a grubber that's easily cleaned up by Addo-Carr. But they'll get yet another chance after Currna forces an error on da Silva. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:35pm 29' Dogs keep things scoreless Volkman kicks early and Samrani is after it, Kiraz gets trapped in-goal and the Eels have their first set in the attacking 20 of the day. A set restart helps them build pressure, da Silva hits Tuilagi flat but he loses the ball as he goes to ground. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:30pm 24' Eels stay defiant A restart on the last gives Canterbury a fresh set on the attack. Xerri nearly slides over but the Dogs just hold him up. Last tackle Galvin looks for the in-goal but Iongi cleans it up and Parra survive again. Parra keep turning the Bulldogs away but how long can they keep it up? Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:27pm 21' Dogs let another chance go by Heyward catches Russell offside for a set restart as he crosses the 40. But again the Dogs can't convert, Burton throws an offload that's intercepted by Tuilagi. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:24pm Injury: Harry Hayes The Dogs lock forward is off with what looks to be a hip pointer problem. Curran comes on and moves Salmon from second row to lock. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:24pm 18' Mixed minute for Galvin Galvin forces a drop-out with a nicely weighted grubber. But three plays later he throws the ball well behind his backline and it goes over the sideline. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:17pm 12' Eels hold on A Volkman error on halfway gives Canterbury a good attacking chance. Crichton ducks back inside and puts a grubber in but it beats Thompson over the dead-ball line. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:15pm 10' Dogs denied King takes a great run over halfway and the Dogs are on the attack. Xerri nearly slides through but gets corralled. Last tackle they go high for Tuala but he knocks it over the dead-ball line. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:12pm 7' Eels can't convert first chance A Xerri error on halfway gives Parramatta the first chance of the day. No stoppages as of yet, both sides going set for set. Volkman puts up a bomb for Kelly but he taps it forward as he looks to find support. Dogs ball. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:05pm And away we go! Parra kick us off, running right to left. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 4:03pm Tips I gave Parramatta a big chance at the upset before the news came through about Kiraz and Crichton. While Kiraz isn't at fullback, a change I've really enjoyed in recent weeks, I still think the two of them playing is enough to flip me to the Bulldogs. Let's go Bulldogs 28-20 with Xerri crossing first. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 3:40pm Slater names his team for Origin II Queensland announced their side for Game II earlier today with Slater revealing a handful of changes and at least one debutant. Mon 8 Jun 2026 at 3:31pm Final teams: Bulldogs vs Eels Couple of big ins for Canterbury - Stephen Crichton and Jacob Kiraz have both been passed fit to play. Kiraz will switch to the wing and Connor Tracey is in at fullback. Jethro Rinakama is on the bench. Bailey Heyward starts at hooker with Kurt Mann out of the side. For Parramatta, Harrison Edwards starts at hooker with Tallyn da Silva moving back to the bench.
