Katie Price snubs Lee Andrews with shopping trip after refusing to pay £140k for jail release
Katie Price has ignored the drama surrounding her jailed husband Lee Andrews and has treated herself to a shopping spree after refusing to pay £140,000 to release him from jail
Katie Price has been on a major shopping spree after refusing to pay to secure Lee Andrews's release from jail. Currently, Lee is behind bars at Dubai's notorious Al Awir prison, despite claims he was due to be released last week.
Initial reports claimed that Andrews, a British national who lives in the United Arab Emirates, required a four-figure sum to be released. However, it has now been disclosed that he will have to pay a staggering £140,000 for his freedom.
While Lee claims to be a millionaire and could afford the large sum, he asked his wife to launch a GoFundMe to help fund his release. which would see members of the public part with their cash. However, Katie refused to do so, telling her husband that "everyone hates you".
But while Lee is behind bars, life couldn't be any more different for Katie, who has been enjoying her downtime in Brighton. The former glamour model embraced the sunshine as she went about her day through The Lanes, wearing a cropped black T-shirt that revealed her heavily tattooed torso.
Price, 48, completed her look with a pair of white mesh trousers, a small bag across her chest, and trainers. But in pictures obtained by the Daily Mail, she was also seen wearing a microphone for her outing, suggesting it is being recorded for her upcoming documentary or YouTube channel.
When Katie jetted out to Dubai to find out the truth about her husband, it was claimed she was prepared to pay the initial £6,500 fee to secure his release. But after visiting the courthouse, she was informed that the fee had risen to £140,000 because he was involved in another case.
But now, she's point-blank refused to part with any cash to aid his release. Speaking to The Sun, she said: "I've made it clear to Lee, I will never give him money, I'll never give a man money, I've done it all my life, I've always been the breadwinner. My divorces, I'm the one that always has to give. I said to Lee I'll never do it."
Although Katie still protests that she's madly in love with Lee and trusts him, but she herself has revealed that their relationship could be over in the near future. Lee initially claimed he'd been arrested and detained following allegations of espionage. It was later reported to be a private civil matter.
For the first time, Katie also said she needed answers from Lee. "I need answers, and if I don't like the answers, I'll be gone," she told the same newspaper over the weekend.
She added: "I'm 48. I don't need to waste my time. We get along really well and he's so intelligent ... As much as I want to listen to the women [his exes] and I'm really open-minded about it, I know what a good woman I am."
Katie insisted she is "protected" and "taking notes" - warning fans not to treat her as a "mug". She explained: "There is no way he would mess with me, and in a way, I feel protected because I have the nation looking out for me.
"I'm not a mug, and when I finally see Lee, I am going to question him. And if the answers I get are not right, that will be it: I'll be done. That's it. And I'll just get on with my life… and not find a man on Instagram and message him."
