Trump labels himself the 'GOAT' in rant over cancelling USA 250th birthday celebrations Donald Trump thinks he should headline an upcoming festival celebrating America's 250th birthday as he claims he 'gets much larger audiences than Elvis' Presley did in his prime Donald Trump is considering having a performer he claims "gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime" headline a festival celebrating America's 250th birthday - himself, or, as he calls himself, the "GOAT". The US president, 79, said in a Truth Social post on Saturday that he was considering headlining the Great American State Fair on the National Mall in Washington DC after a number of high-profile performers pulled out. Trump said: "I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate 'Artists'." He said he was thinking of giving a "major speech" and holding an "AMERICA IS BACK" rally in Washington DC on Wednesday, adding: "Only Great Patriots invited." Multiple performers booked for the 16-day festival - set to run from June 25 to July 10 - dropped out, with many saying they were misled about the political affiliation of the event. The festival is being organised by Freedom 250, the nonprofit created by the Trump administration. Artists including Young MC, Morris Day, The Commodores, Bret Michaels and Martina McBride have since said they will not be taking part. "The Commodores will not be performing at the Great American State Fair," the R&B group announced in an Instagram post on Friday. "Our music has always been our voice and we choose not to publicly affiliate with any single political party. We support the betterment of all Americans." Singer McBride said in a statement on X that she was "presented with an opportunity to perform at a nonpartisan event but that turned out to be misleading". Freedom 250 has insisted it is a nonpartisan organisation.
