A woman says she has no problem being petty after revealing how she handled a recent breakup.
A proudly 'petty' woman revealed how she swiped all of her ex-boyfriend's most 'convenient' household items - including his remote control and the bottom of his kettle. Natalia Wardle said she wanted to take revenge after rowing with her boyfriend as she believed she'd caught him lying.
After the argument, the 24-year-old said she nicked several household items that were convenient to her boyfriend, while he was busy at the gym. Natalia posted a video online last week showing her filling a 'bag for life' with his most essential items, including his remote control, Firestick, razors, the bottom of his kettle and his toothbrush.
While Natalia says one person said her actions were 'childish', she says most praised her 'pettiness' and she claims she would use the same revenge plan again. Natalia's post has gathered over one million views, with the caption: "Throwback to a low point in my life when I found my ex was lying so I took anything that's convenient to him."
Natalia said she had the idea to do it as she thought she would be annoyed if random items of hers went missing. The pair split up for good shortly after her cheeky payback stunt last year.
Natalia, from Burnley, Lancashire, said: "We didn't live together but I was always there. There were lots of reasons behind it [the breakup] but that video was after I found he was lying. I just thought about what I can do to be petty. And I thought, I'll take things that are convenient to him.
"I don't know where I got the idea from, it just came to me. I thought that would really annoy me. Just taking things that he needs. It was his TV remote, his Firestick remote, toothbrush, razors, the bottom of his kettle.
"He was out at the gym and I was already there [his house]."
The customer service worker said she returned the items to her boyfriend after he asked for them back, and the two broke up shortly after. Looking back, Natalia said she would do it again and finds the incident funny.
Natalia said: "I gave it back to him when he messaged me. A lot of people are just laughing and say they wish they had that idea. There was a comment when a guy said female pettiness is very childish. Most of it is people praising how petty it is. I would do it again. When you look back it's funny."
Commenters online have praised Natalia's idea. One commenter said: "The bottom of the kettle, this is iconic."
A second said: "Angry I never thought of this."
A third said: "Do you do other houses?"
A fourth joked: "This taught me that I'm not being petty to my full potential."
Another said: "That’d piss me off way more than anything to be fair."
