Victoria Police said shots were fired towards a house in Elmwood Plane, just before 1pm on October 24.
Nobody was home at the time of the incident, which police believe was targeted.
CCTV footage shows a person getting out of a black Land Rover and firing three shots towards the house while appearing to film on a mobile phone.
Victoria Police described the person as male, wearing a black hooded jumper, a black face-mask, a balaclava, and black tracksuit pants with a grey waistband and black shoes with white soles.
After firing at the house, the man gets back into the vehicle and flees the scene in a southerly direction.
Police have released the vision in the hope that someone with information will come forward.
The incident is being investigated by police from the Fawkner Divisional Response unit.
