Benchmarking the ORCA PT-2 Boson Sampler using Minimum Dominating Set Problems

Announce Type: cross Abstract: We use boson sampling as part of a gradient-free variational algorithm (the Binary Bosonic Solver) to solve a minimum dominating set problem and compare these results to a number of exact and heuristic classical algorithms. The boson sampling has been performed on the physical PT-2 time-bin interferometer from ORCA Computing. The PT-2 device has been tested here using both a single- and double-loop configuration and the results are compared based on the best...

Three- and four-boson systems expanded around the unitarity limit: Application to $^4$He

Announce Type: cross Abstract: The three- and four-boson systems with a large scattering length and a short effective range in the two-body sector are studied in the framework of Short-Range Effective Field Theory. The starting point (leading order) of the EFT is taken to be the universal unitarity limit, where the two-body sector is parameter-free and only one three-body parameter enters. In this limit, physical systems manifests discrete scale invariance.

Two-component exciton condensates in an electron–hole bilayer

Abstract Macroscopic quantum coherence emerges when bosons condense into a Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC)1,2,3,4,5. Excitons are a long-sought solid-state route to high-temperature BECs with strong interactions, electrical tunability and potentially multicomponent spinor order, but conclusive evidence for equilibrium condensation has remained elusive. Here we report evidence for two-component exciton BECs in MoSe2/hBN/WSe2 electron–hole bilayers6,7,8,9 by probing the spin–valley...

Discovering autonomous quantum error correction via deep reinforcement learning

Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Quantum error correction is essential for fault-tolerant quantum computing. However, standard methods relying on active measurements may introduce additional errors. Autonomous quantum error correction (AQEC) circumvents this by utilizing engineered dissipation and drives in bosonic systems, but identifying practical encoding remains challenging due to stringent Knill-Laflamme conditions.

Low Level RF and Timing System Design for the Cool Copper Collider

arXiv:2606.06630v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: The Cool Copper Collider (C3) is a linear accelerator (LINAC) concept based on compact, high gradient, and normal conducting accelerator technology to support Higgs boson studies at 250 GeV and 550 GeV center of mass. The C3 accelerator is ten kilometers in scale and consist of 2,200 RF stations for 550 GeV center of mass. To maintain the stringent beam quality required by the collider across the LINACs, each of the cavities has a dedicated...

Constraints on long-range neutrino interactions from a variety of $U(1)^\prime$ symmetries using atmospheric neutrinos at IceCube DeepCore

arXiv:2606.03443v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Neutrino oscillation experiments provide a unique probe to search for the physics beyond the Standard Model. In this work, we search for a broad class of anomaly-free flavor-dependent $U(1)^\prime$ symmetries using atmospheric neutrino data for the first time. Gauging these $U(1)^\prime$ symmetries give rise to ultra-light vector gauge bosons mediating long-range interactions (LRI) of neutrinos.

No-Go Theorem for Gaussian Quantum Repeaters from Fractional Extendibility

Announce Type: cross Abstract: Photon loss in optical channels fundamentally limits long-range reliable quantum communication. A standard approach to overcoming this limitation is the use of quantum repeater nodes, which typically perform experimentally demanding non-Gaussian operations. However, whether Gaussian repeater protocols can enhance quantum communication rates over bosonic attenuation channels has remained open.

Efficient Hamiltonian, structure and trace distance learning of Gaussian states

Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: In this work, we initiate the study of Hamiltonian learning for positive temperature bosonic Gaussian states, the quantum generalization of the widely studied problem of learning Gaussian graphical models. We obtain efficient protocols, both in sample and computational complexity, for the task of inferring the parameters of their underlying quadratic Hamiltonian under the assumption of bounded temperature, squeezing, displacement and maximal degree of...
