Dell’s new XPS 14 is better in almost every way

| Photo: Antonio G. Di Benedetto / The Verge The 2026 XPS 14 is the best premium laptop we've seen from Dell in a while, with incredible build quality in a thin machine and good performance thanks to Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 "Panther Lake" chips. A bonus: Dell killed its lame "Premium Plus" naming scheme. I can't believe how much of a turnaround this new model is from the XPS 13 I reviewed last year, which at the time was set to be the line's depressing swan song.

Gigabyte packs 40 Intel Lunar Lake PCs in a pizza box

Gigabyte showed off a high density server platform at Computex this week that crams 40 low-power compute nodes into a pizza box. Amid a sea of nearly identical MGX and NVL blades, the R1C7-KOA-AS1 was one of the more unusual systems on this year’s show floor. Rather than using Intel or AMD's datacenter class Xeon or Epyc, the machine is powered by dozens of notebook processors.

MiMo-v2.5-Pro-UltraSpeed: 1T model with 1000 tokens per second

From the first roaring racer of the combustion age to the sonic boom that shattered the sound barrier, humanity's hunger for speed is written into our very DNA. The speed of AI reasoning is no different — it defines the boundaries of intelligence itself. When a model is fast enough, it ceases to be a tool you wait on and becomes an extension of your own thinking: responding in real time, iterating in an instant, collaborating without friction.

Precomputed 1D-CNNs for Atrial Fibrillation Detection on Tiny Smart Sensor Systems

Announce Type: replace Abstract: 1D-CNNs play a crucial role for time-series analysis on tiny smart sensor systems, e.g. for biosignal analysis, predictive maintenance, or structural health monitoring. LUTbased precomputation has emerged as an interesting optimization technique to implement such neural networks on FPGAs. The core idea is to precompute all possible outputs of a neural network layer and store them directly in the lookup tables of the FPGAs.
