DEFLECT: Temporal Counterfactual Preference Learning for Delay-Robust Asynchronous VLAs

arXiv:2605.19294v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Vision-Language-Action (VLA) policies increasingly rely on asynchronous inference to hide large-model latency behind ongoing robot motion. While this avoids the stop-and-go behavior of synchronous action-chunk execution, it creates a prediction-execution mismatch: the next chunk is computed from a stale observation at inference start but executed only after the robot and scene have evolved. As a result, actions that fit the prediction-time...

A Wall Function for Turbulent Boundary Layers under Rotation via Symbolic Regression

arXiv:2606.06876v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: This study employs symbolic regression to derive physically interpretable, white-box wall-function expressions for turbulent boundary layers under system rotation. Flows in a rotating frame are subject to Coriolis forces, which deflect the boundary layer profile from static case. The classical law of the wall, formulated under non-rotating conditions, is ill-suited to describing the effects of rotation.

Mexico thump Serbia 5-1 to complete World Cup preparations

Mexico thump Serbia 5-1 to complete World Cup preparations TOLUCA, Mexico, June 4 : Mexico came from behind to beat Serbia 5-1 in their final World Cup warm-up match on Thursday, gaining momentum a week before opening the tournament on home soil. Serbia struck first in the 19th minute when Petar Stanic capitalised on a defensive lapse and a fortunate deflection before firing a low shot past goalkeeper Raul Rangel. Mexico levelled in the 34th minute through defender Johan Vasquez, who headed...

Scientists propose spraying chemicals into Earth's magnetic field to protect us from powerful solar storms

Scientists propose spraying chemicals into Earth's magnetic field to protect us from powerful solar storms "When you apply some really serious physics to it, it does work." When severe solar storms hurtle toward Earth, the planet's first line of defense is its magnetosphere, a vast magnetic bubble that deflects the brunt of the sun's dangerous charged particles. Historically, humanity has only attempted to forecast the storms and brace for impact.

Dynamic terahertz wavefront control using stretchable single-walled carbon nanotube-based metasurfaces

Dynamic terahertz wavefront control using stretchable single-walled carbon nanotube-based metasurfaces Sadie Harley Scientific Editor Alexander Pol Deputy Editor The terahertz (THz) frequency regime, sitting between microwaves and infrared light, has long promised revolutionary advances in wireless communication, security imaging and nondestructive sensing. A key roadblock, however, has been the lack of compact, dynamically tunable components capable of manipulating THz beams on demand....

Ranking college football's top 100 newcomers for t...

If the upcoming 2026 college football season is anything like its predecessor, transfer quarterbacks and top freshmen will be crucial for many College Football Playoff runs. And by now, with less than 100 days until the start of the season, we can assess rosters and what players did during spring practice with their new teams. While we have analyzed the top newcomer for each Power 4 team, these rankings are regardless of teams.

Rotatable Antenna-Enabled Mobile Edge Computing

Announce Type: replace Abstract: In the evolving landscape of mobile edge computing (MEC), enhancing communication reliability and computation efficiency to support increasingly stringent low-latency services remains a fundamental challenge. Rotatable antenna (RA) is a promising technology that introduces new spatial degrees of freedom (DoFs) to tackle this challenge. In this letter, we investigate an RA-enabled MEC system where antenna boresight directions can be independently adjusted to...
