arXiv:2605.31182v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We propose a novel anti-twig edge in the honeycomb lattice (HCL) that supports two symmetric high-energy edge states. It is different from the twig edge supporting the zero-energy flat band. Moreover, multiple flat bands are produced by applying a strain to the HCL with a twig edge or an anti-twig edge, and the suppression or enhancement of the high-energy edge state is observed.
HVPE Growth of Si-Doped $\beta$-Ga$_2$O$_3$ on Sapphire: Influence of Substrate Offcut on Structural and Electrical Properties
arXiv:2606.05607v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Si-doped $\beta$-Ga$_2$O$_3$ films were heteroepitaxially grown on sapphire substrates using HVPE. The influence of sapphire offcut on growth kinetics, surface morphology, crystalline quality, and electrical transport properties was systematically investigated. Growth kinetics studies revealed a strong dependence of deposition rate on HCl flow, growth pressure, and source-to-substrate distance, with growth rates reaching up to 30 $\mu$m/hr.

Abstract Whale falls are biodiversity oases at seabeds1,2,3,4,5,6, yet their record from the oceans has remained sparse and fragmentary6,7. Here we report the discovery of a vast whale necropolis in the Diamantina Zone (4,616- to 7,001-m depth), extending about 1,200 km along the sea floor of the southeastern Indian Ocean. This area has a deep and extensive accumulation comprising five modern natural whale-fall communities and 476 fossil cetaceans recorded.
