Self-Tuning Regularization for Image Scanning Microscopy

Announce Type: cross Abstract: Image Scanning Microscopy (ISM) is a fluorescence imaging technique that combines detector-array acquisition and computational reconstruction to achieve the theoretical resolution of an ideal confocal microscope, i.e., one operating with an infinitesimally small pinhole, while maintaining high signal-to-noise ratio. Among the reconstruction methods for obtaining the super-resolved image, multi-image deconvolution (MID) and its extension aimed at preserving the...

Gauss Circle Lattices with Geometric Convolutions for Synthesizing High Dimensional Image-Source Room Impulse Responses

arXiv:2606.04358v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: The image-source model (ISM) is a widely adopted method for efficiently simulating acoustic room impulse responses (RIRs) under specular reflection assumptions. Acoustic paths between source and receiver are traced to lattice points computed from successive reflections over bounding planes of the room.

The Dark Regulome: Disentangling Predictability from Regulation in Genomic Foundation Models

Announce Type: new Abstract: High-grade gliomas integrate into neural circuits through functional synapses with neurons, raising the question of which noncoding elements shape synaptogenic gene expression in tumor cells. The regulatory program written across the dark genome, what we call the $\textit{dark regulome}$, is the natural substrate to probe, and sequence foundation models offer a zero-shot route through in-silico mutagenesis (ISM); yet likelihood-based scoring is tautologically...

A natural chemistry laboratory in protostar shock waves

A natural chemistry laboratory in protostar shock waves Lisa Lock Scientific Editor Andrew Zinin Lead Editor Life exists because elements combine to form complex organic molecules. Astrochemistry studies this process, trying to understand how nature creates carbon-based molecules critical for life. One source for these types of molecules is the outflows emitted by protostars.

The tactics that could win Arsenal the Champions League

The tactics that could win Arsenal the Champions League - Published Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are hoping to follow up their Premier League triumph with a Champions League trophy against Paris St-Germain on Saturday but know a mammoth task is ahead. Arsenal's men have thrived in Europe with a high possession approach that has minimised the number of chances they concede, boasting the most clean sheets (9) in the competition so far. Luis Enrique's PSG, by comparison, have only five clean sheets...

Asia stocks skittish as Middle East anxiety offsets AI optimism SINGAPORE: Asian stocks made a cautious start to trading on Tuesday (Jun 2) as uncertainty over whether the ceasefire in the Middle East conflict capped the lift to sentiment from renewed optimism around AI. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fluctuated between gains and losses as trading commenced, last 0.5 per cent lower, led by a 2 per cent decline for Korean shares after an initially higher open. Profiling a Rydberg-Atom Electric Field Sensor for Off-Resonant Detection of Sub-100 MHz RF Signals

arXiv:2606.10151v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We present a Rydberg-Atom electric field sensor optimized to detect signals at sub-100 MHz carrier frequencies. The sensing setup employs a sapphire vapor cell that allows for detection of signals below 100~MHz -- typical vapor cells made of glass or quartz demonstrate strong screening of radio frequency (RF) signals in this frequency regime. Applied signals are detected by observing AC Stark shifts in the atomic vapor energy levels.
