QuITE: Query-Based Irregular Time Series Embedding

arXiv:2605.28166v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Irregular Multivariate Time Series (IMTS) are common in practice, yet their irregular sampling complicates effective modeling. Existing approaches typically either (i) design specialized architectures that limit the reuse of proven Multivariate Time Series (MTS) models, or (ii) map IMTS onto regular temporal grids through interpolation, which may distort temporal dynamics by introducing artificial values. To address these limitations, we...

Aluminum oxide's irregular atomic surface explains its low reactivity

Aluminum oxide's irregular atomic surface explains its low reactivity Gaby Clark Scientific Editor Robert Egan Associate Editor Why do certain surfaces behave very differently from what theoretical calculations suggest? Scientists long assumed that the aluminum oxide surface should be highly reactive and capable of splitting water molecules. In experiments, however, this behavior is barely observed.

Latent Laplace Diffusion for Irregular Multivariate Time Series

arXiv:2605.19805v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Irregular multivariate time series impose a trade-off for long-horizon forecasting: discrete methods can distort temporal structure via re-gridding, while continuous-time models often require sequential solvers prone to drift. To bridge this gap, we present Latent Laplace Diffusion (LLapDiff), a generative framework that models the target as a low-dimensional latent trajectory, enabling horizon-wide generation without step-by-step...

Physically-Constrained Mamba-SDE for Remaining Useful Life Prediction under Irregular Observations

Announce Type: new Abstract: Accurate Remaining Useful Life prediction is critical for industrial predictive maintenance. However, real-world deployment is challenging due to the irregular nature of sensor observations, characterized by asynchronous sampling, burst missingness, and temporal jitter. Compounding this issue, purely data-driven models often generate physically implausible degradation trajectories that violate the irreversible nature of damage accumulation.

Bicausal optimal transport for SDEs with irregular coefficients

arXiv:2403.09941v5 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: We solve constrained optimal transport problems in which the marginal laws are given by the laws of solutions of stochastic differential equations (SDEs). We consider SDEs with irregular coefficients, making only minimal regularity assumptions. We show that the so-called synchronous coupling is optimal among bicausal couplings, that is couplings that respect the flow of information encoded in the stochastic processes.

PerchRL: Vision-Based Agile Perching on Inclined Platforms under Rapid and Irregular Motion

arXiv:2606.03441v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Autonomous vision-based perching of quadrotors on moving inclined platforms is critical for air-ground collaboration but remains challenging due to the limited field of view (FOV). In this paper, we propose PerchRL, a reinforcement learning (RL) framework for vision-based agile perching on inclined platforms under rapid and irregular motion. Specifically, we employ a two-stage learning strategy consisting of state-based pre-training followed by...

CBSE OSM row: Education ministry begins crackdown over alleged irregularities

Action is set to follow against officials in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as the ministry of education has initiated an internal crackdown over alleged irregularities in a controversial tender process and serious vulnerabilities in the board’s digital evaluation ecosystem. According to ministry sources, a detailed report from CBSE on the tender process linked to the board’s On Screen Marking (OSM) system has been sought. Sources said that the explanations provided so far...

TRIAGE: Dialectical Reasoning for Explainable Risk Prediction on Irregularly Sampled Medical Time Series with LLMs

arXiv:2606.09030v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Clinical early warning systems built on electronic health records, in which clinical observations are recorded as irregularly sampled medical time series (ISMTS), must deliver both calibrated risk scores for patient triage and interpretable rationales that clinicians can verify. Large Language Models (LLMs) have been explored for this task, yet they collapse graded clinical risk into overconfident binary predictions. This risk polarization...

A Non-Overlapping Schwarz Hybrid Finite Element-Neural Operator Framework for Solid Mechanics on Irregular Domains

arXiv:2606.08796v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Finite element (FE) methods are the benchmark for solid mechanics simulations, yet their computational cost becomes prohibitive for problems with localised nonlinearities, fine-scale features, or long-time dynamic evolution. In our earlier FE-neural operator (FE-NO) hybrid framework [1], physics-informed deep operator networks were coupled with FE solvers through overlapping domain decomposition with Dirichlet-Dirichlet interface exchange,...
