N PLUS INFINITY TIMES TWO threatens to revitalize 2D platforming in 2027
N PLUS INFINITY TIMES TWO threatens to revitalize 2D platforming in 2027 Metanet is bringing minimalism and precise mechanics to consoles and PC next year. Metanet co-founders Mare Sheppard and Raigan Burns present themselves as two humble Canadians who simply want to blow your mind with platforming innovations. This is what they're known for, as the creators of the genre-defining 2D platforming series N, which debuted in 2004 and continued to ignite during the indie explosion of the 2010s.
Dynamic Gradient-Based Calibration for Robust and Accurate Traffic Macrosimulation
arXiv:2605.19056v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Robust and accurate calibration of macroscopic traffic flow models such as METANET is critical for reliable prediction and effective control. While gradient-based methods are desirable for high-dimensional parameter spaces, their application to real-world traffic scenarios is hindered by highly nonconvex optimization landscapes. Consequently, standard static calibration frequently yields parameter sets that produce unstable, unrealistic...
More than a decade later, the team behind N++ is back with a multiplayer sequel
Back in 2015, the two-person studio Metanet released N++, a brutally hard 2D platformer that was a decade in the making, building off of previous releases dating back to the freeware Flash title N. At the time, cofounder Raigan Burns issued some famous last words: "We hope it's not another 10 years before we come up with a game." But now here we are, more than a decade later, and N is getting another sequel.
