Rethinking Code Review in the Age of AI: A Vision for Agentic Code Review

arXiv:2605.17548v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Code review has evolved for decades, from informal peer checking to today's pull request (PR) workflows, yet it remains a largely manual and cognitively demanding process. The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) coding assistants has intensified this challenge: while these tools increase code production velocity, they also expand the volume of code requiring review, turning code review into a growing bottleneck. Current AI support in code...

Policy on the AI Exponential

Policy on the AI Exponential In one of the side plots to The Lord of the Rings, two of the Hobbits attempt to rouse Treebeard—a wise but ponderous sentient tree—to defend his forest from an army that is cutting it down. The problem is that Treebeard operates at a very different speed than the Hobbits. It takes him a full day simply to say hello to another tree, so getting him and his peers to act fast enough is nearly impossible.

WSL 2 is getting faster Windows file system access

WSL 2 is getting faster Windows file system access From DrvFs in WSL 1 to Plan 9 to virtiofs, cross-OS file access in WSL 2 has improved with each generation. A new change gives each virtio device its own dedicated DMA pool, removing the last major contention point on the virtiofs path. If your workflow crosses the Windows/Linux boundary, file I/O performance in WSL 2 has been getting steadily better.

FrontierCode

Introducing FrontierCode Raising the bar from correctness to quality Today’s coding benchmarks have established that models can write correct code. But as AI-generated code becomes the dominant path to production, correctness is now table stakes. The question that we should be asking is: can models actually write good code?

No fix yet for critical RCE bug in open-source Git service Gogs - exploit module is out

Title: No fix yet for critical RCE bug in open-source Git service Gogs - exploit module is out There's a huge hole and no one is patching it thus far. A critical, remote code execution (RCE) bug in Gogs, a popular open-source self-hosted Git service, can be exploited by any authenticated user - no special privileges required - on a default installation to fully compromise vulnerable servers, steal credentials and multi-factor authentication secrets, or even modify code in hosted repositories in a wide-reaching supply-chain attack. A security researcher reported the 9.4-rated flaw to project maintainers in mid-March. It still doesn’t have a patch. It does, however, have a public Metasploit module - so we’d expect reports of in-the-wild exploitation to start very soon. The vulnerability affects all supported platforms, including Windows, Linux, and macOS, and installation methods, according to Rapid7 researcher Jonah Burgess, who found and reported the bug to Gogs maintainers via GitHub (GHSA-qf6p-p7ww-cwr9) on March 17. After they initially acknowledged that they received the report on March 28, Burgess says he never heard back from the Gogs team - not when he asked

Does JD Vance have to choose between Pope Leo and Peter Thiel?

Pope Leo XIV has chosen a side in the AI battle gripping Washington: He’s Team Anthropic. No, Leo isn’t weighing in on the Trump administration’s ongoing battle with the frontier AI lab and no, he isn’t donating to its super PAC of choice. But on Monday when he unveiled Magnifica Humanitas, his first encyclical letter, on “safeguarding the human person in the time of artificial intelligence,” it was hard to miss that Anthropic co-founder Christopher Olah was there at the...
