Speaking to NBC's Kristen Welker on Sunday (7 June), the US president denied ever promising any such thing. “First of all, I didn’t guarantee no war. Why would I have built the strongest military in the world?” He also defended the ongoing war in Iran, stating that it is not an “endless war” and will be over soon. “We’re there for a few months and the threat is largely over.”
