Brentwood schoolboy, 12, pictured after horror death as family 'living every parents' nightmare' Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of 12-year-old Bobby Bloomfield, who sustained serious injuries in Ashwells Road, Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood, and died in hospital on Sunday An Essex schoolboy who died following a collision in Brentwood has been pictured. Bobby Bloomfield, 12, has been named in heartfelt tributes paid following the tragedy on Sunday night. The youngster died in hospital after being discovered by officers on Sunday evening, having suffered serious injuries. Two individuals from the Pilgrims Hatch area — a 15-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man — have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both remained in custody throughout Monday. Essex Police has now formally confirmed the identity of the victim. A police spokesman said: "Essex Police are now in a position to name the child who tragically died after a serious incident in Pilgrims Hatch, near Brentwood, on Sunday, June 7." "12-year-old Bobby Bloomfield sustained serious injuries in the Ashwells Road area shortly before 5.40pm and very sadly died a short time later in hospital. We're continuing to support his family and loved ones." In a statement, Bobby's family said: "Losing a child is every parent's nightmare. We are living that nightmare, and no words can ever explain how we are feeling. Bobby brought light and life into all our lives, and we have lost that forever. The hole he has left can never be filled. We would ask for our privacy to be respected as we pull together as a family at this horrific time." Essex Live reports that Bobby was a student at Shenfield High School. A spokesperson for the school said: "We are extremely saddened to learn about the death of one of our pupils. This has come as a shock to us all, and we send our deepest condolences to the pupil's family. "We are supporting our pupils, staff and wider school community. As there is an ongoing police investigation, we are unable to comment further at this time." Floral tributes and candles have been placed at the scene in Ashwells Road in the Pilgrims Hatch area of Brentwood, with messages naming the boy as Bobby. One heartfelt note read: "Greatly loved by everyone and you will be greatly missed always and forever", while another described the youngster as "forever missed". Further tributes have been posted on social media, also naming Bobby. DCI Louise Metcalfe of Essex Police's serious crime unit confirmed that detectives are satisfied this was "an isolated incident" with no continuing threat to the local community. She called on residents to check any CCTV footage they may have recorded between 8am and 7pm on Sunday and contact the force via its public portal.
