The explosions come just minutes after US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the Central Command "will be busy tonight" following US President Donald Trump's threat of conflict. CENTCOM forces began launching what it called "additional self-defense strikes" against multiple targets in Iran at the direction of Trump. "The strikes are in response to Iran's unwarranted and continued aggression," the CENTCOM post on X continued. Trump, just hours earlier at an Oval Office event, said, "We're going to be attacking them, attacking them very hard." Explosions were also heard in Fars city and air defence systems were being activated outside the city.
