Mattress maker Sleep Number Corp. has agreed to merge with Sleep Country Canada through a court-supervised process after years of weak demand and mounting financial pressure.
The company filed for a voluntary Chapter 11 sales process to facilitate the transaction, it said in a statement on Friday. It listed assets of between $500 million and $1 billion and liabilities of between $1 billion and $10 billion, according to court documents submitted in the Southern District of New York.
