Furious Trump hits out as Iran leaks 'astonishing cave-in' details on peace deal US President Donald Trump explodes over leaked draft deal which promises Tehran billions, no secure nuclear agreement, no missiles settlement and Hezbollah, Houthis and Hamas links continue A new Washington peace settlement might secure the re-opening of the Strait of Hormuz - but the rest is a massive cave-in for Trump, especially on the nuclear issue. Astonishing claimed details of the draft agreement were leaked by Iran on Friday, prompting an immediate denial by US President Donald Trump branding it “fake news.” Included in exchange for peace is merely a 60 day period of negotiations on “nuclear issues” - which experts have ridiculed as “impossible to reach an agreement in that time frame.” Even as the details were leaked from within Iran Trump was reeling from having claimed a deal was close again as US troops shot down two incoming Iranian attack drones. If the leaked so-called document is signed Tehran will regain hundreds of billions of pounds in reparations for the war, the lifting of sanctions and the unfreezing of Iran’s blocked assets. It is impossible to verify the draft agreement, which the Mirror has been given, because it could be a Tehran bid to combat the lies about settlements uttered by Trump. Amid the 14 point draft settlement, according to the Iran document, is an undertaking to reopen the strait of Hormuz within 30 days and an end to Tehran nuclear programme. But crucially according to sources close to the Iran negotiating team, Tehran is demanding Lebanon is included in any peace deal and the US will not interfere with Tehran’s affairs. And Iran’s support for its proxy so-called “resistance groups” such as Hezbollah and the Houthis is currently excluded from the draft agreement. According to leaks to Iranian media the draft includes a reconstruction which will result in Tehran receiving $300 billion to rebuild its cities. Also included will be the release of $24 billion in blocked Iranian funds, half of which must be paid to Iran before fresh talks start. Trump, furious over the Iran claims, stormed: “The terms that Iran leaked out to the Fake News have nothing to do with the terms that were agreed to in writing. “What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement on having a deal, bears no relation to the truth. Very dishonorable people to deal with. With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith. They better get their act together, and fast.” On Friday a western security source who has analysed the document told the Mirror: “If this is genuine it is not a negotiated peace. It is Iran playing Trump at his own game as he has been shouting about a deal for weeks now. They are doing just the same. But what this is is a unilateral American strategic withdrawal disguised as a diplomatic breakthrough. The draft concedes sanctions relief, frozen assets being unfroxen, the financing of reconstruction and the US withdrawal from Iran’s borders. In return the US only gets the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a chokepoint that should never have been closed. Iran’s missile programme and proxy networks are excluded from negotiations as is the removal of existing enriched uranium stockpiles. The US would be abandoning its declared war aims on Iranian nuclear and missile infrastructure and settling for a minimally stable energy chokepoint. As for the 60 day discussion on the nuclear issue - that would be impossible to reach a desirable result within that time frame.” It comes hours after US President Donald Trump declared a deal on peace had been struck. But Tehran it had not reached a final decision on a deal to end the Middle East war. Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said that "most of the text of the agreement was finalized, but the problem began when the US side made new demands and changed its positions". He added that Tehran "had not reached a final conclusion on the agreement.”
