A major fashion chain is closing its remaining 37 stores across the UK after it crashed into administration.
Quiz entered administration on February 5 for the second time in less than a year and is now about to disappear from the high street for good.
The company revealed it would shut all 37 remaining outlets by the end of June, after bringing in administrators from advisory firm Interpath back in February. The chain had been enduring a "tough start" to 2026, according to those overseeing the process.
The Basingstoke branch at Festival Place has shut its doors today (Sunday). The Carlisle and Eastbourne outlets were expected to shut at midday today, while the Watford store is due to shut on June 16, with Clydebank following on June 17 and Irvine on June 19.
Portsmouth is expected to close on June 20, with Castleford anticipated to follow at around the same time. Quiz concessions in New Look and Matalan stores across the UK are not part of the administration process and will continue to trade as normal.
Administrators Alistair McAlinden and Geoff Jacobs of Interpath Advisory are currently managing the wind-down.
Quiz has not confirmed exactly how many staff will be affected by the closures, though more than 100 head office and warehouse jobs were at risk when the company first entered administration.
This marked the second time in a year that Quiz had collapsed, having first fallen into administration in February 2025 before being snapped up in a pre-pack deal by a subsidiary of the founding Ramzan family.
Speaking in May, Alistair McAlinden, head of Interpath in Scotland and joint administrator, said: "As we head into the May bank holiday weekend, we would encourage shoppers to visit their local store as we commence our final closing down sale."
Geoff Jacobs, managing director at Interpath and fellow joint administrator, said: "We'd once again like to say a huge thank you to Quiz staff who have shown such dedication and professionalism under difficult circumstances."
