At least 17 people were left injured after a tourist train toppled over in a Spanish city. Emergency services rushed to the Spanish city of Cartama, about 10 miles from Malaga, following the incident which happened shortly after 9.30pm local time (8.30pm UK time) on Saturday.
Disturbing images from the scene show the tourist train's carriage lying on its side in the middle of Santo Cristo road. The cause of the incident remains unclear, with authorities only confirming at the time that the train overturned while navigating a crossing.
More than a dozen people sustained injuries, with emergency crews treating them at the scene.
Four people, among them three children, were subsequently taken to a nearby hospital. Local authorities confirmed that none of the injuries are thought to be serious.
At least 30 people were on board, according to the BBC, when the incident occurred.
The train service has been suspended for the weekend, and police have launched an investigation into the matter.
The tourist train was operating as part of la Ruta de la Tapa y el Coctel, a local event encouraging visitors to explore different businesses across the city and sample their offerings.
This annual festival runs between 10 and 14 June, with the train making stops at various venues and tourists given a map pinpointing the numerous locations.
Cartama sits close to two destinations hugely popular with Brits — Malaga and the well-known resort town of Marbella.
