The UK ban on Palestine Action under anti-terror laws was lawful and proportionate the Court of Appeal ruled, in a boost for the government’s contentious response to pro-Palestinian activism.
The government was right to designate Palestine Action and has the power to do so, the Court of Appeal judges ruled. The five judge-panel overturned a February High Court decision which said that placing the protest group in the same category as al-Qaeda curtailed free speech.
