East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews are at the scene of the fire on Nevill Road, Hove. Fire engines from four stations are in attendance as crews battle the flames. Pictures show flames coming from the store with smoke pouring into the sky from all parts of the building. At 9am, the fire service said: "Four engines are currently at the scene from East and West Sussex. Crews are using positive pressure ventilation fans for smoke clearance. Please avoid the area as roads remain closed at this time." Key Events The Waitrose supermarket where a fire broke out this morning is located in the West Blatchington area of Hove. Nevill Road is mainly occupied by houses. The fire on Nevill Road, Hove, broke out in a warehouse chiller, a spokesperson for Waitrose said. The Brighton and Southwick branches remain open as usual, they added. The statement reads: "There was a fire in a warehouse chiller at our Hove shop early this morning while the shop was closed, which was quickly contained thanks to the swift action of the fire service and our partners, to whom we’re incredibly grateful. "The shop will reopen as soon as it’s safe to do so." According to East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, crews were called to the scene at 3.46am.
