The next bank holiday occurs on Monday, July 13, when Northern Ireland commemorates the Battle of the Boyne bank holiday. After that, the following bank holiday arrives on Monday, August 3, when Scotland only marks its Summer bank holiday The rest of the UK (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) will celebrate their Summer bank holiday on Monday, August 31. And later in the year, Scotland alone will enjoy a bank holiday on Monday, November 30, for St Andrew's Day. The whole of the UK will then observe a bank holiday for Christmas Day on December 25, and a "substitute" bank holiday for Boxing Day on Monday, December 28. This replacement day has been introduced as Boxing Day falls on a Saturday this year.
