Teen charged with murder after 15-year-old stabbed to death amid 'widespread disorder' A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder following the death of 15-year-old Jamal Ringrose, who was stabbed in north-west London on May 30 A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a teenager was stabbed to death in north-west London. The suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on Tuesday and charged later the same day, the Metropolitan Police said. It comes after Jamal Ringrose, 15, was stabbed in Dudden Hill Lane, Dollis Hill, on the night of May 30. He was treated at the scene for stab wounds before being taken to hospital, where he sadly died on June 4. Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, who leads policing in the area, said on Thursday: "We recognise the concern locally after Jamal’s death and want to reassure our communities that we are doing everything possible to keep local people safe. "Our officers have acted swiftly to make arrests in connection with the wider disorder surrounding this incident. This includes putting extra powers in place following Jamal’s death, allowing our officers to stop and search people in the area to protect the public and deter potential harm and criminality." A further eight people were previously arrested in connection with the incident, police said. They include two teenage boys arrested on June 2 and June 3 and later charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon. An 18-year-old man was arrested on May 31 on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm, and has since been released on bail. A 19-year-old man arrested on June 4 on suspicion of affray has since been released on bail. An 18-year-old man arrested on June 11 on suspicion of affray and possession of drugs has since been bailed. A 28-year-old man was arrested on June 12 on suspicion of rioting, and a 27-year-old man was arrested on June 14 on suspicion of the same offence. They have both been bailed pending further inquiries. A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Monday on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon. He has also been released on bail pending further inquiries, police said. Detective Inspector Simon Ager, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts continue to be with the family and loved ones of Jamal at a difficult time. "Our work has led to one boy being charged with murder and we continue to work at pace to pursue several lines of inquiry following Jamal’s tragic death." He appealed to anyone with information or footage of the incident - including dashcam and mobile phone recordings - to come forward.
