The England football team have touched down in America for the 2026 Fifa World Cup, hoping to finally clinch the trophy after 60 years of hurt. The players were at Dallas Stadium yesterday (June 18) for their opening match against Croatia. The Three Lions emerged victorious with a 4-2 win, putting on a stunning attacking performance.
Supporting them is an army of devoted England fans who have made the lengthy trip to the US for the tournament. One American man who attended yesterday's match in Dallas has shared his six-word assessment of them.
Casey Settleman, who describes himself as the 'Soccer guy' for Snapback Sports, took to his Instagram page to give his verdict on the England supporters.
The influencer, who has more than 30,000 followers, spoke to camera saying: "First impression of the England fans here in Dallas... This is going to be insane."
Casey said the England supporters "completely took over Texas" and reckoned it was "by far going to be the best fan experience" he has ever witnessed.
He also revealed he asked around 10-12 supporters, 'What do I need to do to be a true England fans?'
Sharing their response, he claimed they told him he had to "get on the beers".
Casey said he'd planned not to drink during the World Cup tournament to "stay healthy", but admitted the England football fan atmosphere was "too infectious" to resist having a pint.
He added: "So I'm getting on the booze, and I'm joining the England fans for the day.
"They could set the bar so high, this could be the best experience of my entire 34-game journey. I'm being completely serious."
Adding to his post in the caption, he wrote: "The England fans came here to prove why they are the best fans at the World Cup."
The post proved a massive hit, clocking up more than 10,000 likes.
One supporter agreed: "England and Scotland fans are the best from Europe by far."
While another chipped in: "Cheers! It's coming home!"
A third enthused: "Enjoy the show - England know how to party."
And a fourth joked: "If both Scotland and England get past the quarterfinals, there will be no beer left in the US, never mind the city."
England and their supporters now have a few days to rest up and get ready for their next World Cup fixture, against Ghana on Tuesday (June 23).
The match will be broadcast in the UK on BBC One at 9pm BST.
