Man 'deliberately' drove at victim and 'trapped him against wall' in Ipswich The incident took place outside a Co-op supermarket and police say it involved a white Volkswagen Polo later abandoned by its driver and passenger A man is in hospital with life-changing injuries after he was "deliberately driven at" and "trapped against a wall", police said. Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the alleged incident, which police said took place just before 10pm on Friday, June 19, outside a Co-op supermarket on Fircroft Road, Ipswich. Suffolk Constabulary said that the reported crash took place following an alleged earlier altercation involving the 20-year-old victim and the driver and passenger of a white Volkswagen Polo. The car was then reportedly driven at the victim "deliberately", trapping him against a wall. The police said the driver and passenger then abandoned the car and fled the scene on foot, with the parties believed to be known to each other. The 20-year-old man sustained open leg fractures which are described as life-changing. He remains in hospital in stable condition. Two 20-year-old men were arrested a short time after the collision on suspicion of attempted murder. Two other men, also aged 20, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs. Suffolk Constabulary said: "The four men were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where they will be questioned by detectives. "A police scene was in place but the road has now reopened."
