Football fans shocked to see Harry Maguire as snubbed Man Utd star embraces World Cup spirit Manchester United defender Harry Maguire may have missed out on a place in Thomas Tuchel's squad - but photographs taken in the US show he's still full of World Cup pizzazz Manchester United star Harry Maguire has joined in with the World Cup spirit - giving out sticker albums to adoring fans in New York City. Maguire was "shocked and gutted" to have been overlooked by the England boss Thomas Tuchel. But he is in the Big Apple to support the team, and joined Gary Lineker on his podcast 'The Rest is Football.' The 33-year-old defender was spotted dishing out Panini stickers at the Rockerfeller Centre before heading to a United themed fan-bar near Times Square for a meet and greet and Q&A session. Some fans posted on social media because they could not believe it was Maguire, who used to play for Leicester City and Hull City. In an Instagram story, Maguire posed with fans and said: "Always good to see the fans around the world." Maguire, who has 66 England caps, revealed on Lineker's podcast that he had an "awkward" video call with Thomas Tuchel in which he found out he would not be part of his 26-man World Cup squad. England, who are without other star names such as Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Trent Alexander-Arnold, won their opening match against Croatia 4-2 in Dallas. England fans have been praised for their loyalty and dedication in following the team around the US. Thomas Concannon, who works for the FSA fans embassy, drove from Miami to Dallas over four days and loved seeing 'classic midtown America'. Tens of thousands of ex-pats are supporting the Three Lions in the US. The Three Lions play Ghana at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on Tuesday. The Fans’ Embassy will be located at the information centre on Boston Common. It will open from 10am to 5pm on Monday and two hours on matchday starting at 10 a.m. The players were training again today and are due to fly to Boston on Monday. Victory over Ghana will guarantee their place in the knock out phase of the tournament.
