The Kangaroos will be the favourites, aiming for a second-straight win - can the Tigers hang in there and cause the upset? Sun 21 Jun 2026 at 1:09pm Recent results between Richmond and North Melbourne - R6, 2026: North Melbourne by 75 (Docklands) - R23, 2025: North Melbourne by 48 (Bellerive Oval) - R11, 2025: North Melbourne by 4 (MCG) - R22, 2024: North Melbourne by 13 (Docklands) - R23, 2023: Richmond by 29 (MCG) - R18, 2022: North Melbourne by 4 (Docklands) North Melbourne has won five of the last six encounters between these two sides, despite their struggles in recent seasons. However extending this out, the Kangaroos have only one six out of the last 11. The last two meetings have been blowouts — one at Docklands, one in Tasmania. However three of the last six matches have been decided by 13 points or less. Key Event Sun 21 Jun 2026 at 1:05pm First players named for AFLW Australia vs Ireland game Some of AFLW's biggest stars will represent Australia in the Australian Rules one-off clash against Ireland in August. The first names have emerged for both the Australian and Irish teams, mixing experience and up-and-coming talent. Reigning AFLW Best and Fairest Ash Riddell will be there for Australia along with her North Melbourne teammate Jasmine Garner, Melbourne's Kate Hore, Richmond star Monique Conti and Brisbane's Courtney Hodder, along with Geelong's Georgie Prespakis, Port Adelaide's Matilda Schulz and Sydney's Zippy Fish. For the Irish, there is plenty of talent to choose from with more than 40 players in the AFLW. Three of the players named today - Carlton's Dayna Finn, Hawthorn's Aine McDonagh and Fremantle's Aisling McCarthy - are their clubs' reigning best-and-fairests. Also in are Brisbane dual premiership player Orla O'Dwyer, Geelong's Aishling Moloney, Adelaide's Niamh Kelly, Collingwood's Sarah Rowe and North Melbourne's Erika O'Shea. Unlike previous Australia-Ireland (men's) matches, this game will be played with an Australian Rules ball rather than the round ball of Gaelic football. It will be played at North Sydney Oval on August 1, and tickets go on sale this Wednesday. Sun 21 Jun 2026 at 1:00pm Big boost for Tigers as captain returns The return of skipper Toby Nankervis is a big boost for the Tigers, both for his leadership, his ruckwork and the physical presence he brings. He will have a big task in front of him up against North Melbourne's Tristan Xerri. Sun 21 Jun 2026 at 12:59pm Teams are in for Tigers vs Kangaroos There are no late changes for either side - you can check out the line-ups above. The Tigers' awful injury woes continue, with Jacob Hopper out with an ankle problem. Oliver Hayes-Brown has been omitted. There is some good news, however, with skipper Toby Nankervis returning from a hamstring injury to play his first game since round two against Gold Coast. Taj Hotton also comes in, after playing in the VFL in a return from a layoff for a hip injury. For North Melbourne, the big out is forward Paul Curtis, who received a three-match ban for his dangerous tackle on West Coast's Hamish Davis. Defender Griffin Logue has been omitted after a mixed display against the Eagles. In come Finn O'Sullivan and Aidan Corr.
