Colombia Gas Reserves Stay Near 18-Year Low as Shortfall Deepens Colombia’s natural gas reserves remained near their lowest level in almost two decades in 2025, increasing pressure on the nation to secure additional import capacity as a domestic shortfall deepens. Natural gas reserves stood at the equivalent of 5.9 years of production at the end of 2025, unchanged from a year earlier and at their lowest level since at least 2007, the National Hydrocarbons Agency said Tuesday. Proven crude reserves rose to 2.02 billion barrels, equivalent to 7.4 years of output, from 7.2 years in the previous assessment.
