Horror moment cab of Coca-Cola lorry comes flying off in shock collision caught on dashcam The lorry driver was lucky to walk away relatively unscathed after the truck he was driving got into a nasty scrape at a busy junction - he sustained minor injuries according to police Astonishing dashcam footage has captured the moment a Coca-Cola lorry smashed into an SUV at a busy junction. A lorry driver in Sydney, Australia, is lucky to have walked away relatively unscathed after the horror collision, with the force of the crash forcing the cab of his truck fly off the body of the vehicle. The whole thing was caught on camera, with the wild footage now going viral on social media. The red Coca-Cola lorry was driving through the Sydney suburb of Mascot on Monday when dramatic scenes unfolded at the junction of King St and Botany Rd, when it collided with a white 4WD vehicle. Footage from Facebook group Dashcam Australia showed the lorry pulling through an junction on a green light on Monday at 11.45am, before a white SUV can be seen in the footage forcing its way into the centre of the road to perform a right turn. In the clip, the sound of a horn blaring could be heard in the moments before the lorry and SUV careered into each other. Next came gasps from nearby pedestrians and drivers. “Oh, s**t!” one driver can be heard exclaiming as the Coca-Cola lorry skidded forward on the tarmac. But the drama wasn't over yet, with force of the collision between the two vehicles so intense that it caused the cab to tip forward and fall off with the driver still inside. Another lorry was also caught on tape slamming on the breaks as it skidded past the scene. Luckily, that vehicle came to a complete stop and the driver's cab remained in place. Paramedics and police both rushed to the scene, with the 29-year-old lorry driver taken to hospital as a precaution, New South Wales Police confirmed in a statement. He sustained minor injuries, while those inside the white SUV were uninjured. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
