Eyewitness Wilmer Azuaje shared videos from Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, just outside Caracas. Footage showed people running as debris fell around them. Mr Azuaje, a former lawmaker says, “It’s shaking. Look at the disaster here, completely destroyed.” Two earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 struck within 39 seconds of each other, causing widespread damage in the capital. At least 32 people were killed and 700 injured after the powerful back-to-back earthquakes, interim president Delcy Rodriguez said.
