UK's best dog-friendly beaches for summer 2026 named — with 4 in the same county These are the UK's top dog-friendly beaches, which you can visit with your four-legged friends all year round When it comes to enjoying a day at the beach with your dog, it can be difficult to find the perfect destination - especially in the summer months when some of the more popular beaches stop allowing dogs. However, in a country with around 1,500 beaches, it's perhaps not too surprising that at least some of these are dog-friendly all year round. With this in mind, Yumove has analysed beaches across the UK, looking at dog policies, accessibility, sunshine hours, the availability of parking and other facilities to create a definitive ranking of the best places to take your furry friends this summer. Topping their list was Western Parade in Eastbourne, with a near-perfect score of 9.9/10, thanks to its fully unrestricted dog policy, a complete set of amenities, including wheelchair access, and a strong sunshine score, drawn from the region's 1,891 annual hours of sun. While the second spot went to another West Sussex Spot, Brighton Naturist Beach, it was Cornwall that dominated the listings, taking up four of the top ten spots. The county's Watergate Bay, Crantock, Treyarnon Bay and Fistral Beach all scored between 9.51 and 9.53. Taking to TripAdvisor, a recent visitor to Watergate Bay wrote: "This is a beautiful bay that is as good as it gets in this area. Great for chilling, surfing, dog walks, etc., we stopped for a bite to eat with a fantastic view." While a visitor to Teyarnon Bay wrote: "Incredible bay with beautiful beach and surfers worth watching! Dog friendly enabling our Staffy to have a great time chasing his football up and down the beach. With the tide out there are some amazing 'secret' rock pools with some large and deep enough to swim in!" And another said: "Very clean beach, there was actually a beach clean on whilst we were visiting. My boys loved digging the sand, jumping on the rocks and the water running down the beach. It is dog friendly and there were quite a few dogs whilst we were there. It is a large beach though so doesn't feel at all cramped."
