NFL: Detroit Lions player Terrion Arnold charged with leading plot to kidnap and pistol-whip three people Terrion Arnold, who turned himself in on Wednesday, briefly appeared in court by video as a judge announced the charges; 23-year-old had 31 tackles and an interception last season for the Detroit Lions; he was a first-round pick in the 2024 draft after playing at the University of Alabama Thursday 25 June 2026 21:37, UK Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has been charged with leading a plot to kidnap and pistol-whip three people he believed had stolen from him. Arnold, 23, who has also been charged with armed robbery, could face up to life in prison if found guilty. Three men in their late teens were held at gunpoint, struck and robbed at an apartment in Tampa, Florida on February 4 of this year, said police, who claim Arnold was the "primary conspirator". That incident occurred three days after possessions worth over $250,000 (approx £189,400) were reportedly stolen from Arnold and others at a rental property in Largo, around 20 miles west of Tanpa. Investigators said the victims had nothing to do with the theft. Arnold, who turned himself in on Wednesday, briefly appeared in court by video as a judge announced the charges. He will remain in jail until at least a detention hearing on Monday. At least seven people reportedly face charges. The victims told police that Arnold's friends lured them to an apartment, held them at gunpoint and hit them while streaming the attack to Arnold. Denise White, the CEO of the EAG Sports Management agency that represents Arnold, said there is "no credible evidence" against the player. White added: "The government appears to be relying on testimony from multiple convicted felons who have admitted their own involvement and may have substantial incentives to shift blame in an effort to lessen their sentences. "Mr Arnold looks forward to his day in court and is confident that the judicial process will lead to his ultimate vindication." Arnold, a first-round pick in the 2024 draft after playing at the University of Alabama, had 31 tackles and an interception last season for the Lions. The Lions and the NFL said they were aware of Arnold's arrest but declined to comment. [Image text:] FROR NFL 0 NFL
