Police received a report of the incident in Ta Kwu Ling at 6.27am on Friday. Emergency personnel found the man unconscious at the scene, having sustained serious head injuries. He was taken to North District Hospital in Sheung Shui, where he was pronounced dead at 6.59am. The 74-year-old minibus driver was travelling along Man Kam To Road towards Sheung Shui at the time of the collision. Upon approaching Hung Kiu San Tsuen, the vehicle reportedly failed to brake in time and struck the cyclist. The driver was detained for further questioning and subsequently arrested for dangerous driving causing death. A 43-year-old female passenger in the minibus complained of pain in her waist and was also taken to North District Hospital.
