Aldi has announced a wave of planned and confirmed supermarket openings across the UK as the budget retailer continues to grow in popularity
Aldi has plans to launch 24 new stores across the UK with 16 of them set to open in the coming months.
The budget supermarket has also submitted planning applications for stores at eight further sites across the UK - including a recent proposal for a £7m branch at Wirral Waters in Seacombe, Merseyside.
Aldi frequently comes top of the list of the UK’s cheapest supermarkets and the brand has been expanding in recent years. The retailer recently beat Morrisons by becoming the fourth-largest supermarket in the UK.
As well as the eight proposed sites, Aldi also recently confirmed 16 new locations where it will open in the next few months, the Express reports.
"Our £370m investment in new stores this year will help us bring Aldi’s unbeatable value to even more communities, supporting local economies through our industry-leading pay for colleagues," Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said.
