I’m Pratigya Vajpayee in New Delhi, with your pre-market briefing as traders return from a three-day weekend.
Local equities head into the new week with two positives on their side — oil prices have fallen for three straight weeks, and over the whole of June, the rupee has been the best-performing currency in Asia. For India, lower crude prices take some pressure off inflation, the exchange rate and government finances, while also easing concerns over corporate and consumer costs.
