A police helicopter was scrambled as part of a major manhunt after a wanted man managed to escape while being detained by officers, police said.
Officers attended an address on Waldrons Moor in Kings Heath, Birmingham on Monday morning to arrest a 16-year-old wanted on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary.
Police said officers found a wanted man hiding in a wardrobe during a search of the property, Birmingham Live reports.
As he was being detained, the fugitive then fled the scene, according to West Midlands Police. Officers flooded Dawberry Fields Park and he was eventually found inside a camper van.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and escape from lawful custody.
West Midlands Police said: "Earlier this morning, we arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary from an address on Waldrons Moor, Birmingham.
