Ethiopia’s creditors took a swipe at the International Monetary Fund’s handling of the nation’s debt-restructuring process, describing the past two years of discussions as “poorly” managed.
The so-called ad-hoc committee that represents about 45% of holders of Ethiopia’s 2024 notes confirmed on Monday it’s reached a tentative agreement with the Horn of Africa nation on key terms of the debt rework. The defaulted securities jumped to a near six-month high, and extended gains on Tuesday to 109.17 cents as of 9:45 a.m. London time.
