The service will launch at several new Wonder locations in the Dallas area and initially feature food from dozens of restaurant brands. The company plans to expand its drone delivery network to additional Texas cities through 2027, as competition grows in the emerging low-altitude delivery market. Wonder’s push into drone delivery puts it in a race with major rivals, including DoorDash and Uber Eats, which are also exploring drone and robotic delivery options to make food delivery faster and more efficient. “We know the faster we can deliver, the higher quality the food,” Wonder North American CEO Tony Hoggett told Reuters. San Francisco-based drone company Zipline will operate Wonder’s Texas flights. The company, which has partnerships across healthcare, food and retail, has already tested drone delivery operations in the U.S. Northeast. Wonder operates more than 130 food halls where customers can order meals from multiple restaurant brands through a single location. The company has expanded rapidly through acquisitions, including its $650 million purchase of Grubhub in 2024, its $186 million acquisition of kitchen robotics company Spyce in 2025, and its $103 million purchase of meal-kit company Blue Apron in 2023. The company is also preparing for a potential initial public offering by 2027 as it continues to invest in technology and faster delivery methods.
