An investigation is underway into a suspicious fire that gutted a house on the Gold Coast overnight.
Police allege an offender set fire to the home on Sickle Avenue at Hope Island about 11:45pm.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said five crews attended the scene and the fire was extinguished two hours later.
The house has been extensively damaged.
Two people sustained life-threatening burn injuries and were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
A third person sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to hospital.
A crime scene has been declared.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
