Trump was shown to have increased his personal revenue by more than a billion since retaking the White House last year, forcing officials to deny conflict of interest claims
Donald Trump raked in an astonishing 10-figure sum during his first year back in the White House, a stunning windfall that came primarily from his family's cryptocurrency business, newly released records show.
Trump, who has been accused of profiting off his presidency since his 2025 return to the Oval Office, pulled in at least $2.2 billion (£1.6 billion) all told last year. At least $1.4 billion (£1.05 billion) of that sum came from his family crypto investments, which has benefitted from the 47th president's push to make the US the "crypto capital of the world" and his international business links.
All of his businesses have seen a significant uptick in revenues, however, with 2025's sum clocking in at nearly four times the amount reported by Trump in 2024.
The 927-page disclosure reveals that revenue from a Trump meme coin ($TRUMP) alone exceeded the total revenues he reported during the entirety of 2024. Those royalties from the coin, launched days before Trump took office came in at $635 million (£479 million) in 2025, tens of millions more than the at least $622 million (£469 million) of revenue reported in 2024.
World Liberty Financial, the Trump family cryptocurrency firm founded by his sons and the children of Steve Envoy, the property magnate turned special envoy, made him an additional more than $500 million (£377 million) in income.
Other select ventures also reported significant revenue increases, with Mar-a-Lago, Trump's Florida resort, seeing $77 million (£58 million) in revenue, a $27 million (£20 million) increase on 2024. The Miami-based Trump National Doral golf club made $122 million (£92 million), an increase of $11 million (£8 million) on the previous year.
Despite widespread allegations and concerns raised about a potentially massive conflict of interest, the White House has denied any of the money was leveraged off the presidency.
Anna Kelly, the Trump administration's deputy press secretary, said Trump was proud to have made the US "the crypto capital of the world". She said in a statement: "Neither the President nor his family has ever engaged - or will ever engage - in conflicts of interest." The official went on to add the Trump administration has taken all of its actions "in the best interest of the American people".
She said: "All actions by President Trump and his administration are taken in the best interest of the American people – and any so-called 'reporters' pushing otherwise are recycling the same, tired, false narrative that Democrats and the legacy media have been pushing for a decade."
Seasoned onlookers have noted that the massive amount of money being raked in by Trump compares starkly to his predecessors, including Republican George W Bush.
Will Walker-Arnott, director of private clients at Raymond James Financial Group told the BBC: "Jimmy Carter put his peanut farm into a blind trust and George W Bush sold his interest in the Texas Rangers before becoming president, but Trump seems to be operating in a very different manner and seems to be making a lot of money through this family crypto company."
