Lucy Letby's warped 'date nights' with fellow child killer who gives her 'makeovers' Lucy Letby's life behind bars isn't as lonely as it may seem. As she strikes up a friendship with another child killer, we speak to experts on how these warped connections form Date-night style dinners, makeovers, card games and 'cockiness' as they walk around their prison wing - Lucy Letby and Beinash Batool are 'inseparable' according to prison insiders. The two killers have formed a warped bond inside, all while knowing they will never be moved from their 'cushty' wing. Killer nurse Letby was convicted of killing seven babies and attempting to murder eight others at the Countess of Chester Hospital in 2023. A whole-life order means she will spend the rest of her life behind bars and will never be eligible for parole. Batool, meanwhile, was convicted of the murder of her stepdaughter 10-year-old Sara Sharif after a prolonged campaign of abuse. In December 2024, she was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 33 years. The two women are serving time at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey and have bonded over their shared love of games including Uno and Chess. Now it's been claimed that the pair also go on a 'date night' style dinner once a month in the prison restaurant. Letby and Batool are reportedly 'inseparable' and go everywhere together. A former lag, who spent time in the women's prison, calls Letby "Queen Bee" and says Batool even gives the killer nurse full make-overs to boost her spirits. "They became best friends because nobody would speak to them, so they formed an alliance. They have got each other's backs and go everywhere together. They are cocky because they know they will never be moved from Unit 4 because they can’t be transferred due to security," the ex-con told The Sun. They further detailed how the two women enjoy coffees, cakes and meals including avocado toast at the restaurant. They have to earn behaviour points called "positives" to visit the eatery Vita Nova and go once a month in what looks like a "date-night" style dinner. Letby and Batool are also said to pay monthly visits to the hair and beauty salon, with other prisoners cleared from the room to prevent attacks. "It is a really nice restaurant and the staff eat there. You can also have things like Thai green curry, poached eggs on toast and full English breakfasts and there are vegetarian options," the source added. Dr Ruth Tully, a consultant forensic psychologist who has significant experience working with high profile prisoners and extreme violence, says some prisoners may feel more isolated than others and this is how these relationships can form beind bars. She tells the Mirror: "By its nature prison is an isolated place, and humans are social beings. Some prisoners who are even more isolated than others due to their offence types, may still seek emotional connection and this is why we might see two people with similar risks interacting together. "This is especially true when the prisoner might face physical harm from others, which often happens to those convicted of harming children; the prisoner will seek social bonds with those they do not believe pose that physical threat." HMP Bronzefield is also home to killer mum Constance Marten. It's believed the 39-year-old resents Letby and keeps herself to herself inside. Letby and Batool are understood to be held on House Block Four, where each cell has its own ensuite shower. Neighbouring lags in the block are mainly women serving life sentences for crimes like paedophilia and child murder. Fellow inmates have called Letby's life in prison as "cushty" as she reportedly gorges on junk food, watches daytime TV and works premium prison jobs to "rake in cash". Her cell is said to be "homely" with a single bed, a wardrobe and a shelf for her TV and DvD player. Speaking to the Mirror from behind bars at Bronzefield, one inmate said that Letby is "really pi****g off" the other women as she stuffs her face with Quality Street chocolates and crisps. Most prisoners are lucky to be selected for one job, while Letby is flaunting the money she earns after getting three cushy jobs - two of which are the best paid inside. Our source said that Letby is unable to walk the corridors of the jail alone for fears she will be attacked, so is always accompanied by a prison officer It's also claimed that Letby tries to win sympathy from guards by crying at any given opportunity, and fakes being nice so she gets "positive comments" which means she is then allowed even more perks. "The staff are terrified of Lucy, and they pander to her bulls**t," our source said. "If she was out in general pop she wouldn't have survived. There are women here with nothing to lose, they have said they will kill her, what's one more life sentence when you're already serving life?" Batool previously worked in the prison library and is said to have moved to a role in the chapel where she is in charge of photocopying leaflets and other materials for Muslim and Christian prisoners. But sources suggest that Batool isn't happy about working and "whinges" that she has never had to work in her life as she's "always had a man support me" and that she "just hates this job". Batool was convicted of the murder of Sara Sharif alongside husband Urfan Sharif. Little Sara was discovered dead in her bed after the family had fled to Pakistan. The jury found she was killed by her father and stepmother and that her uncle, Faisal Malik, was complicit in causing or allowing her death. Both Letby and Batool pleaded not guilty to their crimes. Dr Tully tells us: "If two prisoners both maintain their innocence, they could bond over a shared sense of injustice. Prison authorites are well placed and experienced in considering if prisoner associations are risk-increasing and it is my experience that they would separate prisoners if they were significantly concerned."
