England vs DR Congo LIVE: Harry Kane scores priceless equaliser with Three Lions level England kick-off their World Cup knockout campaign by facing DR Congo in Atlanta, as Thomas Tuchel's side bid to reach the last 16, with co-hosts Mexico up next for the winners England are level with DR Congo in the second half of their World Cup round of 32 clash. Thomas Tuchel made three changes to his starting line-up, with Djed Spence, Declan Rice and Noni Madueke replacing Jarell Quansah, Morgan Rogers and Bukayo Saka. England were looking for a stress-free afternoon in Atalanta, having already seen European heavyweights Germany and Netherlands crash out at this stage. A goal from Brian Cipenga in the seventh minute separated the sides at half-time before Harry Kane's equaliser. Our chief reporter, John Cross, and football reporter Ryan Taylor are inside Atlanta Stadium to bring you the latest news and information. Stay tuned as Mirror Football brings you updates throughout tonight's clash. Key Events Brian Cipenga and Ngal Ayel Mukau make way for Edo Kayembe and Theo Bongonda. Anthony Gordon crosses in and Kane's header is too much for Mpasi, who should really have done better. Game on! FINALLY. More resolute Congo defending. England then win a free-kick on the right-hand side but it comes to nothing. Aaron Wan-Bissaka rises highest to deny England a chance, but the ball goes out for a corner. This needs to be a good delivery. Eberechi Eze is on for Spence. Declan Rice has gone into right-back, with Bellingham dropping deeper in midfield. More boos. Still no equaliser for England. The BBC suffered a brief but unexpected technical glitch on Wednesday evening which interrupted their World Cup coverage of England vs the DR Congo. After a normal first-half, in which the Three Lions went 1-0 down thanks to Brian Cipenga's seventh minute strike, the broadcaster resumed their presentation of the fixture. That'll be Mbuku's last involvement. Sebastien Desabre calls on Meschak Elia. Congo go short before Nathaniel Mbuku lets fly and Elliot Anderson gets his head on a shot which looked goalbound. Another corner. Congo are starting to enjoy possession in good areas. They're not resting on a 1-0 lead. Thomas Tuchel has seen enough. His changes his two wide men. Rashford and Noni Madueke are off for Anthony Gordon and Bukayo Saka. Half an hour of normal time remaining. Not for the first time at this World Cup, Thomas Tuchel is furious with Djed Spence. Spence took a throw-in near the halfway line and went backwards, much to Tuchel's dismay as he screamed at the Tottenham right-back. It's boiling over in Atlanta. Bellingham's shot from a tight angle took a dangerous deflection but there was Lionel Mpasi to stick out a left hand. That's three times Bellingham has been denied by Congo's goalkeeper - or should we say superhero? Congo counter from the corner and Marc Guehi makes a huge interception to stop a big chance. Marcus Rashford goes up the other end and hits the side netting with his shot. Arthur Masuaku heads clear the inswinger for another corner. This time, it'll be an outswinger. The first set piece of the second half. Declan Rice needs to improve from the opening 45. Ollie Watkins was out longer than any other England substitute at half-time. Perhaps it'll be the Aston Villa striker who gets called for. That was a terrible half but England improved significantly during the 'second quarter' following the hydration break. Despite the criticism, it was actually helpful to the Three Lions on this one occasion. They are creating chances but just can't find a way through right now. If they attack like that in the second half and tighten things up at the back, they might have a chance. I would consider readying a number of subs - this could be Ivan Toney time. He's a penalty box threat and can be a real handful in there. England have 45 minutes to salvage their World Cup dream. That will split opinion. Thomas Tuchel is sticking to his guns. Unsurprisingly, DR Congo haven't made any subs. England assistant manager Anthony Barry to BBC One: "We still have 45 to play. Obviously, to concede an early goal to a team that plays this style of football is never a good thing. "It can normally carry you into a state of shock. It is something that has released us guys. We have taken the handbrake off. "We have created many, many, many chances. The goalkeeper is man of the match so far. It is not a time to panic." Jordan Pickford 4 -He just cannot be beaten any his near post like that. He is having a poor World Cup. Djed Spence 4 - Let's be honest, on the back of the season he's had, quite how he's ended up at this World Cup is anyone's guess. Exposed. Ezri Konsa 5 - Unwittingly went close to equalising but the England defence was exposed again. Marc Guehi 6 - The calmest man in defence - which is not saying a lot. Back four issues again. Nico O'Reilly 5 - His aerial threat and defending was important but none of the defenders played well. Declan Rice 5 - Screamed at the bench in frustration after England conceded. Elliot Anderson 5 - So quiet and subdued. Did not look anywhere near his best. Noni Madueke 5 - Got the nod over Saka and it just did not work. Offered no cover and little end product. Jude Bellingham 6 - Booked. Went close with a header but you could see the frustration building. Marcus Rashford 5 - Let a ball go under his foot to pre-empt the first hydration break. Had one cleared off the line. Harry Kane 5 - Had one chance taken off his toe. DR Congo kept him very quiet and frustrated. Well then, England trail at the break and are staring down the barrel of a World Cup exit. Brian Cipenga's seventh-minute goal has made the difference, but should England have had a penalty? That'll dominate the half-time chatter. Kane is denied by Mpasi from the corner! England cannot find a way through. Surely the last action of the first half. And it's Bellinghm who's denied once more. A strong right hand from the Congo goalkeeper. What a game he's having.
