Exxon to Change Name for First Time in Decades After Redomicile Exxon Mobil Corp. will begin trading as ExxonMobil Holdings Corp. after redomiciling in Texas, the first name change since the Mobil mega merger more than 25 years ago. Each Exxon share will be exchanged for a share in the new holding company and the new stock will begin trading under the existing “XOM” ticker on Thursday, the oil giant said in a regulatory filing Wednesday. Shareholders gave the go-ahead for the move from New Jersey to Texas at the annual meeting in May.
