NEW DELHI: Congress MP Manish Tewari on Thursday reacted sharply after he was "left in the cold" when the party announced new working presidents and poll panels for Punjab ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Reacting to a newspaper article, Tewari took to X and said that he wished he had "an antidote" for the insecurities of individuals and institutions. "Is there any bigger flaw in a person than possessing a skill or talent? Wish I had an antidote for the insecurities of individuals and institutions!" Tewari said. "Having said that, Congress has given me enough over the past 45 years, and I have also devoted my entire adult life to the service of the Indian National Congress over the decades. Que sera, sera. Whatever will be, will be..." he added. This comes a day after the All India Congress Committee announced key organisational appointments for the upcoming 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, naming chairpersons and co-chairpersons of multiple election-related committees, with no organisational role assigned to Congress MP Manish Tewari, a three-term Lok Sabha member from Chandigarh and one of the party's prominent leaders in Punjab. As per the announcement, Charanjit Singh Channi has been appointed Chairperson of the Campaign Committee, while Vijay Inder Singla will be Chairperson of the Election Management and Coordination Committee. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has been named Chairperson of the Core Committee, and Amar Singh will lead the Manifesto Committee. The party also confirmed that Amarinder Singh Raja Warring will continue as Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president, while Pratap Singh Bajwa will remain Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in Punjab. The AICC further announced the appointment of three working presidents for the Punjab unit -- Sukhwinder Singh Danny, Raj Kumar Verka and Sangat Singh Gilzian.
