Ricky Hatton's car torched in horror 'targeted attack' outside son Campbell's home Police launched an investigation after the car belonging to the late boxing great Ricky Hatton was set on fire, which led his son Campbell to post he was "gutted" to lose one of his dad's possessions A car belonging to the late Ricky Hatton was torched in a "targeted attack" outside his son Campbell's home. An investigation was launched following the attack in Hattersley, Hyde, on Monday night. Police and fire crews arrived at the residential street to deal with the incident, which also saw a front window smashed through. Police gathered evidence after the driveway of the property was left charred and covered in burn debris. In a post shared on social media, boxer Campbell Hatton said the vehicle had belonged to his late dad, the former boxing world champion. Hatton died aged 46 last September after being found unresponsive at his Hyde home. In the post shared on Monday, Campbell, 25, said: "At around 11.40pm my dad's car got set on fire outside my house. "CCTV of two lads look like they came through the valley in Hattersley to do it, so anyone with any info or cameras that might have caught anything let me know. Absolutely gutted the car was one of the only things I’ve got that was my dads and a lot of sentimental stuff ruined. Need to get to the bottom of it I have a seven-year-old daughter who stays here." Greater Manchester Police said it was alerted to the blaze at about 11:45pm on Monday. Emergency services remained at the scene and carried out investigations throughout Tuesday. No arrests have been made yet, reports the Manchester Evening News. "Officers from our Tameside district are appealing for information after a vehicle was deliberately set on fire outside an address," a GMP spokesperson said. We were called at 11.45pm to reports or a car which had been set on fire, officers attended the scene along with colleagues from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. "No arrests have been made at this stage. It is believed to be a targeted attack with no wider risk to the public, and investigations are ongoing. Officers are now appealing to the public for their help as we continue to make enquiries into this incident." Fire and rescue personnel were later called out on Tuesday morning to reports of a gas leak. A spokesperson said: "Firefighters worked alongside partners from Greater Manchester Police and Cadent to make the area safe. No injuries were reported and crews were on the scene for around four and a half hours."
