Idaho mum claimed 18-month-old twins died due to vaccinations - now she's charged with their murders The 23-year-old appeared on an anti-vaccine podcast just days after her twins died, claiming she believed their deaths were linked to routine vaccinations. More than a year later, police charger her with murder A mother has been charged with the murder of her 18-month-old twins more than a year after they were found dead. Andrea Shaw, 23, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder on Monday, June 29, following the deaths of her twin children in Payette, Idaho. The boy and girl were found dead in a shared bed on May 1, 2025, before Payette Police launched a lengthy investigation. Just days after their deaths, Shaw appeared on a podcast produced by Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine organisation, alongside her husband, where she suggested the twins had become sick after receiving three vaccinations. Asked on the podcast how she felt after the deaths, having been “so pro-vaccines” and “lied to”, Shaw replied: “I feel that I wish I was anti-vaccine now.” Shaw, who recently gave birth to another baby on June 25, was arrested without incident in Boise, Idaho. It has not been confirmed whether she has entered a plea. Her attorney, Joe Filicetti, said he believes the children’s deaths were vaccine-related, as Shaw claimed on the podcast. He told KTVB: “They were looking at it as a vaccine death, and that’s still what I believe it will be” Asked what reasons he had to believe the deaths were vaccine-related, Filicetti said: “I’m not a medical expert, but the medical experts I have go through a series of looking at when they had different complications” At the time of the deaths, officers said they were treating the case as a homicide investigation. An officer said: “It’s extremely unusual for two twin infants to be found deceased and be believed to have passed at the same time. "So, there’s a lot of unanswered questions that we have right now. We are very hopeful that the autopsies will answer a lot of those questions.” In a recent statement on June 30, Payette Police said: “This arrest is the result of a lengthy and thorough investigation conducted by the Payette Police Department, with invaluable assistance from numerous partner agencies.” They added: "Because this case is now pending before the court, the Payette Police Department will have no further comment regarding the facts of the case or the evidence. Future information will be presented through the judicial process." Shaw is currently being held at the Ada County Jail pending extradition to Payette County, where she will be arraigned on two counts of First Degree Murder.
