I’m Ashutosh Joshi in Mumbai with your market update as we reflect on Japanese PM Takaichi’s photo-friendly visit to India.
Two things Tokyo and New Delhi have in common are the pressure on the exchange rates and concerns about China’s increasingly assertive stance. In fact, both the yen and the rupee are down a little more than 10% versus the US dollar over the past 12 months (keeping the two more or less in balance). But in that time Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index has returned more than 75%, while the Nifty clocked up a small loss, including dividend payments.
