CUHK suspends lawmaker William Wong after drink-driving, hit-and-run arrest William Wong was arrested after crashing into two parked vehicles on campus, with the incident only emerging on Wednesday The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has suspended engineering associate dean William Wong Kam-fai, who is also a lawmaker, from administrative duties after his arrest over alleged drink-driving and a hit-and-run. A CUHK spokeswoman said on Friday, two days after the arrest came to light, that the university was aware of and deeply concerned about the incident involving a staff member. “The university attaches great importance to the conduct and professional ethics of its staff and has immediately suspended the staff from administrative duties,” she said. She added that the case was under police investigation and it would be inappropriate for the university to comment further at this stage. Wong, 66, was arrested on Monday night after crashing his car into two parked vehicles on campus. A source said he lost control of his vehicle at about 10.46pm near a staff residence, hitting a parked car that was pushed into a second vehicle. [Image text:] PEX. GreatEag
